DAY 447: Rum 35-40

•  Is it that We have sent down to them any authority that speaks to them about their associating partners with Him? If We give people a taste of mercy, they become prideful ˹because˺ of it. But if they are afflicted with an evil for what their hands have done, they instantly fall into despair. Have they not seen that Allah gives abundant or limited provisions to whoever He wills? Surely in this are signs for people who believe. So give your close relatives their due, as well as the poor and the ˹needy˺ traveller. That is best for those who seek the pleasure of Allah, and it is they who will be successful. Whatever loans you give, ˹only˺ seeking interest at the expense of people’s wealth will not increase with Allah. But whatever charity you give, ˹only˺ seeking the pleasure of Allah—it is they whose reward will be multiplied. It is Allah Who created you, then gives you provisions, then will cause you to die, and then will bring you back to life. Can any of your associate-gods do any of this? Glorified and Exalted is He above what they associate with Him ˹in worship˺!

  This passage continues the argument against polytheism and human ingratitude, but shifts to a powerful critique of how people behave regarding provision, wealth, and charity. Allah challenges the polytheists' logic by demanding evidence for their false gods, exposes the selfishness that characterizes human nature toward wealth, and establishes the correct Islamic principles of charity, justice, and reliance on Allah alone.
  The Four Acts of Divine Power: This verse summarizes four exclusive acts of Allah:
      Creation: He brought you from nothing.
      Provision: He sustains you with food, water, and all necessities.
      Death: He causes you to die at the appointed time.
      Resurrection: He will bring you back to life for judgment.
      
      
  🧾 The Challenge to Polytheists
      Demand for Proof: Allah challenges the polytheists to produce any divine scripture or authority justifying their worship of false gods—exposing their shirk as baseless tradition with no evidence.
  😔 Human Fickleness
      Emotional Instability: When given mercy, people exult in arrogance; when adversity strikes due to their own actions, they fall into despair—revealing a weak understanding of God.
  💰 The Wisdom of Provision
      Wealth Is Not a Measure of Favor: Allah extends or restricts provision according to His wisdom, not as a sign of divine pleasure or displeasure—a clear sign for those who believe.
  🤲 Obligations of Wealth
      Give Rights to Three Groups: Believers are commanded to give to relatives, the needy, and stranded travelers—with sincerity seeking only the face of Allah, which leads to true success.
  📈 Usury vs. Charity
      Usury Brings No Blessing: Ribā (interest) appears to increase wealth but has no value with Allah.
      Charity Truly Multiplies: Zakāh and sincere giving, done for Allah's pleasure, are what genuinely multiply in reward and blessing.
  👑 The Final Argument for Tawhid
      Four Exclusive Acts of Allah: He alone creates, provides, causes death, and resurrects.
      No Partner Can Do Any: None of the false gods can perform even one of these acts.
      Conclusion: Allah is exalted and far above the partners they associate with Him.       
  Allah challenges the polytheists to produce any evidence for their false gods, exposes human ingratitude and the spiritual barrenness of usury versus the true increase of sincere charity, and concludes with the unanswerable proof that He alone creates, provides, causes death, and resurrects—acts none of their so-called partners can perform.
