DAY 430: Haqqah 1-17

•  The Inevitable Hour! What is the Inevitable Hour? And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? ˹Both˺ Thamûd and ’Ȃd denied the Striking Disaster. As for Thamûd, they were destroyed by an overwhelming blast. And as for ’Ȃd, they were destroyed by a furious, bitter wind which Allah unleashed on them non-stop for seven nights and eight days, so that you would have seen its people lying dead like trunks of uprooted palm trees. Do you see any of them left alive? Also, Pharaoh and those before him, and ˹the people of˺ the overturned cities ˹of Lot˺ indulged in sin, each disobeying their Lord’s messenger, so He seized them with a crushing grip. Indeed, when the floodwater had overflowed, We carried you in the floating Ark ˹with Noah˺, so that We may make this a reminder to you, and that attentive ears may grasp it. At last, when the Trumpet will be blown with one blast, and the earth and mountains will be lifted up and crushed with one blow, on that Day the Inevitable Event will have come to pass. The sky will then be so torn that it will be frail, with the angels on its sides. On that Day eight ˹mighty angels˺ will bear the Throne of your Lord above them.(
  Its central theme is to affirm the certainty of the Day of Judgment and to shake people from their complacency. The surah uses vivid imagery, powerful oaths, and historical examples to awaken the human conscience to the reality of that Day. The first 17 verses, in particular, build a crescendo of intensity, from the initial declaration of the event to the cosmic catastrophe that precedes it and the final gathering of humanity.
  
      The Declaration: It announces the certainty of the "Inevitable Reality."
      The Historical Proof: It provides examples of past nations (Thamud, 'Ad, Pharaoh) who denied their messengers and were destroyed by Allah's punishment in this world.
      The Reminder of Mercy: It recalls the story of Noah's Ark as a sign of Allah's power to save the believers and destroy the deniers.
      The Cosmic Cataclysm: It paints a terrifyingly vivid picture of the end of the world—the trumpet blast, the earth and mountains crushed, the sky split apart.
      The Establishment of Divine Authority: It concludes this section with the majestic image of the angels and the Throne of the Lord, signaling the commencement of the Day of Judgment where all will be held accountable.  
    
      When the universe is shattered and all creation laid bare, the absolute sovereignty of Allah will be the only reality standing.
