DAY 434: Maarij 22-44

•  except the performers of Salāh, who are regular in their Salāh, and who give the rightful share of their wealth to the beggar and the poor; and who ˹firmly˺ believe in the Day of Judgment; and those who fear the punishment of their Lord— ˹knowing that˺ none should feel secure from their Lord’s punishment— and those who guard their chastity except with their wives or those ˹bondwomen˺ in their possession, for then they are free from blame, but whoever seeks beyond that are the transgressors. ˹The faithful are˺ also those who are true to their trusts and covenants; and who are honest in their testimony; and those who take due care of their Salāh . These will be in Gardens, held in honour. So what is the matter with the disbelievers that they rush ˹head-long˺ towards you ˹O Prophet˺, from the right and the left, in groups ˹to mock you˺? Does every one of them expect to be admitted into a Garden of Bliss? But no! Indeed, they ˹already˺ know what We created them from. So, I do swear by the Lord of ˹all˺ the points of sunrise and sunset that We are truly capable of replacing them with ˹others˺ better than them, and We cannot be prevented ˹from doing so˺. So let them indulge ˹in falsehood˺ and amuse ˹themselves˺ until they face their Day, which they have been threatened with— the Day they will come forth from the graves swiftly, as if racing to an idol ˹for a blessing˺, with eyes downcast, utterly covered with disgrace. That is the Day they have ˹always˺ been warned of.

  Having just described the inherent weakness of man—his anxious, impatient, and stingy nature (verses 19-21)—the Surah now presents the exceptions to this rule. Verses 22-35 provide a beautiful and comprehensive profile of the true believers, those who have transcended their base nature through faith and discipline. Following this profile, verses 36-44 return to address the disbelievers who rejected the Prophet, warning them of their fate and concluding the Surah with a powerful reminder of God's ultimate power.
  
      The Profile of a Believer: True believers are exceptions to human weakness. They are characterized by consistency in prayer, social responsibility (Zakat), faith in the Hereafter, moral chastity, integrity in trusts and promises, and uprightness in testimony.
  
  --The Foundation of Faith (a devoted observer of what Quran's teaches),
  --Consistency and Permanence (constant and permanent in their following),
  --Social Responsibility,
  --Certainty in the Afterlife,
  --Reverential awareness (prevents them from becoming arrogant ) ,
  --No False Security, protect their chastity and honor,
  --Integrity and Honesty (faithful to the trusts (amanat) placed in them),
  --Upholding Justice 
  
      The Promise of Honor: For their comprehensive faith and character, believers are promised an honorable place in the gardens of Paradise.
      Rebuke of Arrogance: The disbelievers' arrogant assumption that they deserve Paradise, despite their rejection of faith, is firmly refuted by reminding them of their humble creation.
      Divine Power and Warning: Allah swears by His absolute authority that He can replace them with a better nation, serving as a final, powerful warning.
      The Inevitable Humiliation: The Surah ends by contrasting the future state of the disbelievers—rushing from graves in humiliation—with the honor of the believers, confirming that the promised Day is real and approaching.
     
      True believers transcend human weakness through consistent prayer, social responsibility, moral integrity, and unwavering faith, earning them honor in Paradise, while the arrogant disbelievers, despite their mockery, are ultimately powerless before a God who can replace them and will humiliate them on the Day they are promised.
