DAY 418: Muminun 45-54

•  Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and compelling proof to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they behaved arrogantly and were a tyrannical people. They argued, “Will we believe in two humans, like ourselves, whose people are slaves to us?” So they rejected them both, and ˹so˺ were among those destroyed. And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so perhaps his people would be ˹rightly˺ guided. And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them refuge on high ground—a ˹suitable˺ place for rest with flowing water. O messengers! Eat from what is good and lawful, and act righteously. Indeed, I fully know what you do. Surely this religion of yours is ˹only˺ one, and I am your Lord, so fear Me ˹alone˺. Yet the people have divided it into different sects, each rejoicing in what they have. So leave them in their negligence for a while.

  This section continues the pattern established in the previous verses—the sending of prophets and the rejection by powerful nations—but now focuses on a specific and famous story: Prophet Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron) , peace be upon them both, and their confrontation with Pharaoh and his court.
  Following the story of Musa, the passage concludes with a direct address to all messengers and their followers, drawing a universal lesson about unity and division.
      The Musa-Pharaoh Paradigm: The story of Musa and Pharaoh is presented as the ultimate example of arrogance (Pharaoh) versus divine authority. The powerful elite, blinded by their social status and prejudice, rejected the clear signs and were destroyed.
      The Unity of Prophets: From Musa to Isa to Muhammad (peace be upon them all), the message is one: worship the One God and work righteousness. The prophets are united in their purpose.
      The Curse of Sectarianism: The tragedy of later followers is that they divide the one religion into warring sects, each celebrating its own differences. This is a deviation from the prophetic path.
      A Warning to the Opponents: Just as Pharaoh was given time but ultimately destroyed, the disbelievers of Mecca are to be left in their ignorance for a short while. Their term is coming, and they will face the same fate if they do not believe.
      
      Here are three fundamental reasons, drawn from the Quran and the nature of the human soul.

      Despite the unity of God's message across all prophets, people arrogantly divide into sects, each celebrating its own path while ignoring the inevitable judgment to come.
