DAY 267: Hud 96-109

•  Indeed, We sent Moses with Our signs and compelling proof to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they followed the command of Pharaoh, and Pharaoh’s command was not well guided. He will be before his people on the Day of Judgment and will lead them into the Fire. What an evil place to be led into! They were followed by a curse in this ˹life˺ and ˹will receive another˺ on the Day of Judgment. What an evil gift to receive! These are accounts, We relate to you ˹O Prophet˺, of the ˹destroyed˺ cities. Some are still standing ˹barren˺, while others have been mowed down. We did not wrong them, rather they wronged themselves. The gods they invoked beside Allah were of no help at all when the command of your Lord came, and only contributed to their ruin. Such is the ˹crushing˺ grip of your Lord when He seizes the societies entrenched in wrongdoing. Indeed, His grip is ˹terribly˺ painful and severe. Surely in this is a sign for those who fear the torment of the Hereafter. That is a Day for which humanity will be gathered and a Day ˹that will be˺ witnessed ˹by all˺. We only delay it for a fixed term. When that Day arrives, no one will dare speak except with His permission. Some of them will be miserable, others joyful. As for those bound for misery, they will be in the Fire, where they will be sighing and gasping, staying there forever, as long as the heavens and the earth will endure, except what your Lord wills. Surely your Lord does what He intends. And as for those destined to joy, they will be in Paradise, staying there forever, as long as the heavens and the earth will endure, except what your Lord wills—a ˹generous˺ giving, without end. So do not be in doubt ˹O Prophet˺ about what those ˹pagans˺ worship. They worship nothing except what their forefathers worshipped before ˹them˺. And We will certainly give them their share ˹of punishment˺ in full, without any reduction.

  From the historical narratives to their ultimate implication: a final, unavoidable Day of Judgment where humanity will be divided into two distinct groups, and the reality of divine decree will be fully manifest.
      The Final Proof: The story of Musa and Pharaoh is the capstone evidence of Allah's power over the mightiest tyrants.
      The Law of Divine Justice: Destruction is a self-incurred result of wrongdoing, following an unvarying pattern.
      The Ultimate Reality: The temporal punishments of this world are a prelude to the eternal division of humanity on the Day of Judgment into the wretched (in the Fire) and the blessed (in Paradise).
      The End of All Argument: On that Day, speech ends, and the consequences of one's choices in the test of life become permanent.
      The Final Reassurance: The Prophet is commanded to have absolute certainty, as the fate of the deniers is as predictable and certain as the fate of their predecessors.   
      The fate of the wretched in the Fire and the blessed in Paradise, abiding for eternity, is the ultimate and certain outcome of the divine test of life, a final division that should eradicate all doubt about the futility of worshipping anything but Allah.

DAY 266: Hud 84-95

•  And to the people of Midian We sent their brother Shu’aib. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. And do not give short measure and weight. I do see you in prosperity now, but I truly fear for you the torment of an overwhelming Day. O  my people! Give full measure and weigh with justice. Do not defraud people of their property, nor go about spreading corruption in the land. What remains [lawful] from Allāh is best for you, if you would be believers. But I am not a guardian over you." They asked ˹sarcastically˺, “O Shu’aib! Does your Salāh command you that we should abandon what our forefathers worshipped or give up managing our wealth as we please? Indeed, you are such a tolerant, sensible man!”  He said, “O my people! Consider if I stand on a clear proof from my Lord and He has blessed me with a good provision from Him. I do not want to do what I am forbidding you from. I only intend reform to the best of my ability. My success comes only through Allah. In Him I trust and to Him I turn. O  my people! Do not let your opposition to me lead you to a fate similar to that of the people of Noah, or Hûd, or Ṣâliḥ. And the people of Lot are not far from you. So seek your Lord’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance. Surely my Lord is Most Merciful, All-Loving.” They threatened, “O Shu’aib! We do not comprehend much of what you say, and surely we see you powerless among us. Were it not for your clan, we would have certainly stoned you, And to us, you are not a man of respect.” He said, “O my people! Do you have more regard for my clan than for Allah, turning your back on Him entirely? Surely my Lord is Fully Aware of what you do. O my people, do what you can, I am to do (what I can). Soon you will know the one whom the punishment will visit, putting him to disgrace, and the one who is false. And wait. I am, with you, waiting.” When Our command came, We saved Shu’aib and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us. And the ˹mighty˺ blast overtook the wrongdoers, so they fell lifeless in their homes, as if they had never lived there. So away with Midian as it was with Thamûd!

  A new dimension of societal sin: not outright idolatry or sexual deviance, but systemic dishonesty in commerce and the exploitation of the weak. It shows that divine law governs not only worship but also economic transactions.
      Economic Justice as Worship: Shu'ayb's story elevates honest dealings and fair trade to an act of worship and a fundamental part of Islamic faith.
  When the people of Shu'ayb mockingly ask, "Does your Ṣalāh command you...?" they are not just asking about his five daily rituals. They are sarcastically referring to his entire prophetic mission and the comprehensive guidance (the "Way" or "Program") he has received from Allah.
  They are saying: "Does this 'System' or 'Program' you're so connected to and following so closely really command you to tell us how to run our businesses and spend our money?"
      The Sin of "What I Do With My Wealth is My Business": It confronts the modern-secular idea that wealth grants absolute freedom, asserting that all property is a trust from Allah and must be used justly.
      The Weaponization of "Weakness": The powerful often mistake integrity for weakness, and Shu'ayb's story defends the moral strength of the righteous against the arrogant strength of the corrupt.
      The Final Argument is History: The ultimate warning to a corrupt society is to look at the fate of those who came before them. Their destruction is not a unique event but part of a consistent divine law.
  
      Prophet Shu'ayb's people were destroyed not for outright paganism but for sanctifying their greed, treating their wealth as a private idol to be worshipped through fraud and exploitation, proving that economic corruption is a fundamental rejection of divine law that carries the same ultimate consequence as any other major sin.

DAY 265: Hud 69-83

•  And surely Our messenger-angels came to Abraham with good news ˹of a son˺. They greeted ˹him with˺, “Peace!” And he replied, “Peace ˹be upon you˺!” Then it was not long before he brought ˹them˺ a ˹fat,˺ roasted calf. And when he saw that their hands did not reach for the food, he became suspicious and fearful of them. They reassured ˹him˺, “Do not be afraid! We are ˹angels˺ sent ˹only˺ against the people of Lot.” And his wife was standing by, so she laughed, then We gave her good news of ˹the birth of˺ Isaac, and, after him, Jacob. She wondered, “Oh, my! How can I have a child in this old age, and my husband here is an old man? This is truly an astonishing thing!” They responded, “Are you astonished by Allah’s decree? May Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you, O  people of this house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy, All-Glorious.” Then after the fear had left Abraham, and the good news had reached him, he began to plead with Us for the people of Lot. Truly, Abraham was forbearing, tender-hearted, and ever turning ˹to his Lord˺. ˹The angels said,˺ “O Abraham! Plead no more! Your Lord’s decree has already come, and they will certainly be afflicted with a punishment that cannot be averted!” When Our messenger-angels came to Lot, he was distressed and worried by their arrival. He said, “This is a terrible day.” And ˹the men of˺ his people—who were used to shameful deeds—came to him rushing. He pleaded, “O my people! Here are my daughters ˹for marriage˺—they are pure for you. So fear Allah, and do not humiliate me by disrespecting my guests. Is there not ˹even˺ a single right-minded man among you?” They argued, “You certainly know that we have no need for your daughters. You already know what we desire!” He responded, “If only I had the strength ˹to resist you˺ or could rely on a strong supporter.” The angels said, “O Lot! We are the messengers of your Lord. They will never reach you. So travel with your family in the dark of night, and do not let any of you look back, except your wife. She will certainly suffer the fate of the others. Their appointed time is the morning. Is the morning not near?” When Our command came, We turned the cities upside down and rained down on them clustered stones of baked clay, marked by your Lord ˹O Prophet˺. And these stones are not far from the ˹pagan˺ wrongdoers!

      Contrast of Messages: The same divine emissaries bring joy and the fulfillment of a promise to the righteous household of Ibrahim, and absolute judgment to the corrupt society of Lut.
      The Limit of Intercession: Even the great intercessor, Ibrahim, could not avert a decree that had become inevitable due to a society's irreversible corruption.
      The Nature of Societal Sin: The people of Lut represent a transgression that disrupts the very foundation of natural law, family, and society, moving beyond mere polytheism to active, aggressive depravity.
      Salvation is for the Committed Believer: Salvation required Lut and his family to physically and emotionally separate from the corrupt society without looking back, a powerful metaphor for the complete renunciation of disbelief.
      
      The same divine messengers brought both the joyful promise of a prophetic lineage to Ibrahim's righteous household and the utter annihilation of Lut's people for their irreversible societal corruption, demonstrating that divine decree brings either mercy or irrevocable justice based on a people's spiritual state.

DAY 264: Hud 61-68

•  And to the people of Thamûd We sent their brother Ṣâliḥ. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. He ˹is the One Who˺ produced you from the earth and settled you on it. So seek His forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance. Surely my Lord is Ever Near, All-Responsive ˹to prayers˺.” They argued, “O Ṣâliḥ! We truly had high hopes in you before this. How dare you forbid us to worship what our forefathers had worshipped? We are certainly in alarming doubt about what you are inviting us to.” He responded, “O my people! Consider if I stand on a clear proof from my Lord and He has blessed me with a mercy from Him. Who could help me against Allah if I were to disobey Him? You would only contribute to my doom. And O  my people! This she-camel of Allah is a sign for you. So leave her to graze ˹freely˺ on Allah’s earth and do her no harm, or a swift punishment will overtake you!”  But they killed her, so he warned ˹them˺, “You have ˹only˺ three ˹more˺ days to enjoy life in your homes—this is an unfailing promise!” When Our command came, We saved Ṣâliḥ and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us and spared them the disgrace of that Day. Surely your Lord ˹alone˺ is the All-Powerful, Almighty. And the ˹mighty˺ blast overtook the wrongdoers, so they fell lifeless in their homes, as if they had never lived there. Surely Thamûd denied their Lord, so away with Thamûd!

      The Clear, Limited Test: Thamud was given a specific, unambiguous miracle with clear instructions, making their sin a conscious choice rather than mere ignorance.
      Arrogance Over Resources: Their crime was fundamentally about arrogance and a refusal to share Allah's provisions fairly, as symbolized by the water allocation.
      The Violation of a Sacred Trust: Killing the she-camel was not just murdering an animal; it was an act of war against a divine sign and a direct violation of a covenant.
      The Nullification of Worldly Power: The punishment demonstrated that all human power and prosperity are contingent and can be erased in a moment by the will of the "Powerful, the Exalted in Might."
      Continuation of the Pattern: The story reinforces the surah's central theme: reject the warner, transgress after a clear sign, and face utter destruction, while the believers are saved by mercy.
      
      Despite being given a clear and limited test through a miraculous she-camel, the people of Thamud's arrogant refusal to share Allah's provision led to their instantaneous destruction, nullifying their worldly power as if it had never existed.

DAY 263: Hud 50-60

•  And to the people of ’Âd We sent their brother Hûd. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. You do nothing but fabricate lies ˹against Allah˺. O  my people! I do not ask you for any reward for this ˹message˺. My reward is only from the One Who created me. Will you not then understand? And O  my people! Seek your Lord’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance. He will shower you with rain in abundance, and add strength to your strength. So do not turn away, persisting in wickedness.” They argued, “O Hûd! You have not given us any clear proof, and we will never abandon our gods upon your word, nor will we believe in you. All we can say is that some of our gods have possessed you with evil.” He said, “I call Allah to witness, and you too bear witness, that I ˹totally˺ reject whatever you associate with Him ˹in worship˺. So let all of you plot against me without delay! I have put my trust in Allah—my Lord and your Lord. There is no living creature that is not completely under His control. Surely my Lord’s Way is perfect justice. But if you turn away, I have already delivered to you what I have been sent with. My Lord will replace you with others. You are not harming Him in the least. Indeed, my Lord is a ˹vigilant˺ Keeper over all things.” When Our command came, We rescued Hûd and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us, saving them from a harsh torment. That was ’Âd. They denied the signs of their Lord, disobeyed His messengers, and followed the command of every stubborn tyrant. They were followed by a curse in this world, as they will be on the Day of Judgment. Surely ’Âd denied their Lord. So away with ’Âd, the people of Hûd.

  Allah declares that the purpose of creation is to provide a stage for us to unlock and manifest the potentials He gave us. He then sends the Quran as the ultimate guidebook on how to actualize that potential successfully. However, human history shows that most people, intoxicated by their own arrogance, will reject this guidance, demanding spectacular miracles instead of heeding the profound wisdom in front of them. To these deniers, Allah's response is not to indulge their demands, but to point to the ultimate proof: history itself. He gave past nations like 'Ad and Thamud immense wealth and power, but they "wasted it by being arrogant." Their story is not just a tale; it is a direct, terrifying answer to the question, "What happens to those who fail the test of life?"
      The Unchanging Message: The core of prophethood (Tawhid) remains the same from Nuh to Hud.
      Arrogance of Power: The people of 'Ad's rejection was rooted in their physical strength and civilization, leading them to dismiss the warning.
      The Defense of the Prophet: Hud, like Nuh, defends his sincerity by rejecting any material reward.
      Absolute Reliance on Allah (Tawakkul): Hud's powerful declaration in verse 56 is a model for all believers facing oppression.
      The Principle of Replacement: No nation is irreplaceable in Allah's plan. Denial leads to annihilation and replacement.
      The Pattern Continues: The story serves as another clear example of the consequences of denying a prophet, reinforcing the warning to humanity.
   
      Allah gives you life to reveal your potential, provides the Quran as your guide, and points to the ruins of arrogant past nations as the ultimate warning of what happens when you reject that guidance for worldly power.

DAY 262: Hud 36-49

•  And it was revealed to Noah, “None of your people will believe except those who already have. So do not be distressed by what they have been doing. And build the Ark under Our ˹watchful˺ Eyes and directions, and do not plead with Me for those who have done wrong, for they will surely be drowned.” So he began to build the Ark, and whenever some of the chiefs of his people passed by, they mocked him. He said, “If you laugh at us, we will ˹soon˺ laugh at you similarly. You will soon come to know who will be visited by a humiliating torment ˹in this life˺ and overwhelmed by an everlasting punishment ˹in the next˺.” And when Our command came and the oven burst ˹with water˺, We said ˹to Noah˺, “Take into the Ark a pair from every species along with your family—except those against whom the decree ˹to drown˺ has already been passed—and those who believe.” But none believed with him except for a few. And he said, “Board it! In the Name of Allah it will sail and cast anchor. Surely my Lord is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” And ˹so˺ the Ark sailed with them through waves like mountains. Noah called out to his son, who stood apart, “O my dear son! Come aboard with us and do not be with the disbelievers.” He replied, “I will take refuge on a mountain, which will protect me from the water.” Noah cried, “Today no one is protected from Allah’s decree except those to whom He shows mercy!” And the waves came between them, and his son was among the drowned. And it was said, “O earth! Swallow up your water. And O  sky! Withhold ˹your rain˺.” The floodwater receded and the decree was carried out. The Ark rested on Mount Judi, and it was said, “Away with the wrongdoing people!” Noah called out to his Lord, saying, “My Lord! Certainly my son is ˹also˺ of my family, Your promise is surely true, and You are the most just of all judges!” Allah replied, “O Noah! He is certainly not of your family—he was entirely of unrighteous conduct. So do not ask Me about what you have no knowledge of! I warn you so you do not fall into ignorance.” Noah pleaded, “My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking You about what I have no knowledge of, and unless You forgive me and have mercy on me, I will be one of the losers.” It was said, “O Noah! Disembark with Our peace and blessings on you and some of the descendants of those with you. As for the others, We will allow them ˹a brief˺ enjoyment, then they will be touched with a painful punishment from Us.” This is one of the stories of the unseen, which we reveal to you ˹O Prophet˺. Neither you nor your people knew it before this. So be patient! Surely the ultimate outcome belongs ˹only˺ to the righteous.

      Divine Justice and Mercy: The flood is the ultimate expression of both—justice for the disbelievers and mercy for the believers.
      Obedience in the Face of Mockery: Nuh's unwavering obedience in building the ark is the model for believers.
      Spiritual vs. Biological Family: The criterion for true connection in Allah's sight is faith, not blood.
      The Fallibility of Prophets: Prophets are infallible in conveying revelation, but they have human emotions. Nuh's plea for his son and his subsequent repentance show this humanity and the importance of accepting divine wisdom.
      Consolation and Promise: The story is revealed to reassure Muhammad (PBUH) and the believers that patience and righteousness lead to the best outcome, no matter how severe the opposition.
      "Why are we being persecuted?" → Because this is the way people have always treated prophets.
      "What should we do?" → Be patient and obedient like Nuh and his followers.
      "What will happen to the disbelievers?" → The same fate that befell the people of the Flood.
      "Is Allah with us?" → Yes, just as He was with the believers in the ark.
  The story moves the message from theoretical principle to historical truth, providing the believers with a powerful paradigm for understanding their own struggle and a firm promise of eventual success through patience and piety.
      Despite Noah's unwavering obedience, his own son—separated by disbelief rather than blood—was drowned in the Flood, a poignant lesson that divine salvation is for the righteous alone, and true victory belongs only to those who are patient and pious.

DAY 261:Hud 25-35

•  Surely We sent Noah to his people. ˹He said,˺ “Indeed, I am sent to you with a clear warning that you should worship none but Allah. I truly fear for you the torment of a painful Day.” The disbelieving chiefs of his people said, “We see you only as a human being like ourselves, and we see that no one follows you except the lowliest among us, who do so ˹hastily˺ without thinking. We do not see anything that makes ˹all of˺ you any better than us. In fact, we think you are liars.” He said, “O my people! Consider if I stand on a clear proof from my Lord and He has blessed me with a mercy from Himself, which you fail to see. Should we ˹then˺ force it on you against your will? O  my people! I do not ask you for a payment for this ˹message˺. My reward is only from Allah. And I will never dismiss the believers, for they will surely meet their Lord. But I can see that you are a people acting ignorantly. O  my people! Who would protect me from Allah if I were to dismiss them? Will you not then be mindful? I do not say to you that I possess Allah’s treasuries or know the unseen, nor do I claim to be an angel, nor do I say that Allah will never grant goodness to those you look down upon. Allah knows best what is ˹hidden˺ within them. ˹If I did,˺ then I would truly be one of the wrongdoers.” They protested, “O Noah! You have argued with us far too much, so bring upon us what you threaten us with, if what you say is true.” He responded, “It is Allah Who can bring it upon you if He wills, and then you will have no escape! My advice will not benefit you—no matter how hard I try—if Allah wills ˹for˺ you to stray. He is your Lord, and to Him you will ˹all˺ be returned.” Or do they say, “He has fabricated this ˹Quran˺!”? Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If I have done so, then I bear the burden of that sin! But I am free from your sinful accusation.”

      Historical Pattern: The rejection faced by Muhammad (PBUH) is identical to that faced by Nuh (AS), providing immense consolation and validation.
      Arguments of Arrogance: The primary obstacles to faith are social snobbery, denial of a human messenger, and pride.
      The Prophet's Role: A prophet is a warner, not a coercer. He is a human with no control over provision or the unseen, and his mission is devoid of materialistic motives.
  
      Not a Treasurer of Allah: He doesn't control divine provisions or wealth.
      Not a Knower of the Unseen: His knowledge is limited to what Allah reveals.
      Not an Angel: He is a human being.
      Not a Judge of Hearts: He cannot say that Allah will not grant the lowly believers any good. That knowledge belongs only to Allah.  
  
      Divine Timing: The punishment is real, but its timing is according to Allah's will, not the mockers' demands.
      Ultimate Accountability: Guidance is from Allah, and every soul is ultimately responsible for its own choices, returning to its Lord.
      
      The story of Noah illustrates the timeless pattern of prophethood: a messenger faces rejection from arrogant elites who mock his humanity and his lowly followers, but he perseveres by clarifying his sincere role, relying solely on Allah's timing, and leaving the final judgment to His Lord.

DAY 260:Hud 13-24

•  Do they say that he has fabricated it? Say (to them), “Then bring ten Sūrahs like this, fabricated. And call whomsoever you can, other than Allah, if you are true.” But if your helpers fail you, then know that it has been revealed with the knowledge of Allah, and that there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him! Will you ˹not˺ then submit ˹to Allah˺? Whoever desires ˹only˺ this worldly life and its luxuries, We will pay them in full for their deeds in this life—nothing will be left out. It is they who will have nothing in the Hereafter except the Fire. Their efforts in this life will be fruitless and their deeds will be useless. ˹Can these people be compared to˺ those ˹believers˺ who stand on clear proof from their Lord, backed by ˹the Quran as˺ a witness from Him, and preceded by the Book of Moses ˹which was revealed˺ as a guide and mercy? It is those ˹believers˺ who have faith in it. But whoever from the ˹disbelieving˺ groups rejects it, the Fire will be their destiny. So do not be in doubt of it. It is certainly the truth from your Lord, but most people do not believe. Who does more wrong than those who fabricate lies against Allah? They will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, “These are the ones who lied against their Lord.” Surely Allah’s condemnation is upon the wrongdoers, who hinder ˹others˺ from Allah’s Path, striving to make it ˹appear˺ crooked, and disbelieve in the Hereafter. They will never frustrate Allah on earth, and they will have no protector besides Allah. Their punishment will be multiplied, for they failed to hear or see ˹the truth˺. It is they who have ruined themselves, and whatever ˹gods˺ they fabricated will fail them. Without a doubt, they will be the worst losers in the Hereafter. Surely those who believe, do good, and humble themselves before their Lord will be the residents of Paradise. They will be there forever. The example of these two parties is that of the blind and the deaf, compared to the seeing and the hearing. Can the two be equal? Will you not then be mindful?

      The Inimitable Quran: The Quran itself is the ultimate proof; the challenge to replicate it remains unanswered.
      The Choice of Reward: You can take your full reward in this temporary world and have nothing in the Hereafter, or you can invest for the eternal life.
      Certainty vs. Doubt: The believer stands on clear evidence, while the disbeliever is in a state of active denial and distortion.
      Ultimate Loss vs. Ultimate Success: The passage concludes with a stark, unforgettable contrast between the self-destructive fate of the disbeliever and the triumphant, eternal bliss of the humble believer.
      The Definition of Success: Success is defined by three pillars:
  
      Correct Belief .
      Righteous Action .
      Humility before Allah.   
  
      The difference between the believer and the disbeliever is as stark as the difference between a blind/deaf man and a seeing/hearing one. This vivid imagery drives home the point that faith provides true perception and understanding of reality, while disbelief is a state of spiritual sensory deprivation.
    
      Allah challenges the disbelievers to replicate the Quran's perfection, exposing their futile obsession with this world—a choice that leads to ultimate loss—while contrasting them with the believers, who through faith and humility, attain a perception and a paradise the spiritually blind and deaf can never grasp.

DAY 259:Hud 1-12

•  Alif-Lãm-Ra. ˹This is˺ a Book whose verses are well perfected and then fully explained. ˹It is˺ from the One ˹Who is˺ All-Wise, All-Aware. ˹Tell them, O  Prophet,˺ “Worship none but Allah. Surely I am a warner and deliverer of good news to you from Him. And seek your Lord’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance. He will grant you a good provision for an appointed term and graciously reward the doers of good. But if you turn away, then I truly fear for you the torment of a formidable Day. To Allah is your return. And He is Most Capable of everything.” Indeed, they enfold ˹what is in˺ their hearts, ˹trying˺ to hide it from Him! But even when they cover themselves with their clothes, He knows what they conceal and what they reveal. Surely He knows best what is ˹hidden˺ in the heart. There is no moving creature on earth whose provision is not guaranteed by Allah. And He knows where it lives and where it is laid to rest. All is ˹written˺ in a perfect Record. He is the One Who created the heavens and the earth in six stages—and His Throne was upon the waters—in order to test which of you is best in deeds. And if you ˹O Prophet˺ say, “Surely you will ˹all˺ be raised up after death,” the disbelievers will certainly say, “That is nothing but pure magic!” And if We delay their punishment until an appointed time, they will definitely say, “What is holding it back?” Indeed, on the Day it overtakes them, it will not be averted from them, and they will be overwhelmed by what they used to ridicule. If We give people a taste of Our mercy then take it away from them, they become utterly desperate, ungrateful. But if We give them a taste of prosperity after being touched with adversity, they say, “My ills are gone,” and become totally prideful and boastful, except those who patiently endure and do good. It is they who will have forgiveness and a mighty reward. Perhaps you ˹O Prophet˺ may wish to give up some of what is revealed to you and may be distressed by it because they say, “If only a treasure had been sent down to him, or an angel had come with him!” You are only a warner, and Allah is the Trustee of All Affairs.

DAY 257: Yunus 93-109

•  Indeed, We settled the Children of Israel in a blessed land, and granted them good, lawful provisions. They did not differ until knowledge came to them. Surely your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment regarding their differences. If you  are in doubt about ˹these stories˺ that We have revealed to you, then ask those who read the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so do not be one of those who doubt, and do not be one of those who deny Allah’s signs or you will be one of the losers. Indeed, those against whom your Lord’s decree ˹of torment˺ is justified will not believe— even if every sign were to come to them—until they see the painful punishment. If only there had been a society which believed ˹before seeing the torment˺ and, therefore, benefited from its belief, like the people of Jonah. When they believed, We lifted from them the torment of disgrace in this world and allowed them enjoyment for a while. Had your Lord willed, all those on earth would have believed altogether. Would you, then, compel people, so that they become believers? It is not (possible) for any one that he believes except with the will of Allah. And He makes filth settle on those who do not understand. Say, “Look at what is there in the heavens and the earth.” But, signs and warnings do not suffice a people who do not believe. Are they waiting for ˹anything˺ except the same torments that befell those before them? Say, “Keep waiting then! I too am waiting with you.” Then We saved Our messengers and those who believed. For it is Our duty to save the believers. Say, “O people, if you are in doubt about my Faith, then, I do not worship those whom you worship beside Allah. Rather, I worship Allah who brings death to you. And I have been commanded, ‘Be one of the believers,’ and, ‘Be steadfast in faith in all uprightness, and do not be one of the polytheists,’ and ‘Do not invoke, instead of Allah, what can neither benefit nor harm you—for if you do, then you will certainly be one of the wrongdoers,’ and ‘If Allah touches you with harm, none can undo it except Him. And if He intends good for you, none can withhold His bounty. He grants it to whoever He wills of His servants. And He is the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’” Say, “O people, the truth has come to you from your Lord. So, whoever accepts guidance accepts it to his own benefit, and whoever goes astray does so to his own detriment. And I am not responsible for you.” And follow what is revealed to you, and be patient until Allah passes His judgment. For He is the Best of Judges.

DAY 256: Yunus 75-92

•  Then after these ˹messengers˺ We sent Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his chiefs with Our signs. But they behaved arrogantly and were a wicked people. When the truth came to them from Us, they said, “This is certainly pure magic!” Moses responded, “Is this what you say about the truth when it has come to you? Is this magic? Magicians will never succeed.” They argued, “Have you come to turn us away from the faith of our forefathers so that the two of you may become supreme in the land? We will never believe in you!” Pharaoh demanded, “Bring me every skilled magician.” When the magicians came, Moses said to them, “Cast whatever you wish to cast!” When they did, Moses said, “What you have produced is mere magic, Allah will surely make it useless, for Allah certainly does not set right the work of the corruptors. And Allah establishes the truth by His Words—even to the dismay of the wicked.” But no one believed in Moses except a few youths of his people, while fearing that Pharaoh and their own chiefs might persecute them. And certainly Pharaoh was a tyrant in the land, and he was truly a transgressor. Moses said, “O my people! If you do believe in Allah and submit ˹to His Will˺, then put your trust in Him.” They replied, “In Allah we trust. Our Lord! Do not subject us to the persecution of the oppressive people, and save us, through Your mercy, from the disbelieving people.” And We revealed to Mūsā and his brother: “Have houses for your people in Egypt, and make your houses worship oriented, and establish Salāh, and give good tidings to the believers.” Moses prayed, “Our Lord! You have granted Pharaoh and his chiefs luxuries and riches in this worldly life, ˹which they abused˺ to lead people astray from Your Way! Our Lord, destroy their riches and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment.” Allah responded ˹to Moses and Aaron˺, “Your prayer is answered! So be steadfast and do not follow the way of those who do not know.” We brought the Children of Israel across the sea. Then Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them unjustly and oppressively. But as Pharaoh was drowning, he cried out, “I believe that there is no god except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am ˹now˺ one of those who submit.” ˹He was told,˺ “Now ˹you believe˺? But you always disobeyed and were one of the corruptors. Today We will preserve your corpse so that you may become an example for those who come after you. And surely most people are heedless of Our examples!”

DAY 255: Yunus 65-74

• What they say should not make you grieve. Surely, all power belongs to Allah. He is All-Hearing, All Knowing. Certainly to Allah ˹alone˺ belong all those in the heavens and all those on the earth. And what do those who associate others with Allah really follow? They follow nothing but assumptions and do nothing but lie. He is the One Who has made the night for you to rest in and the day bright. Surely in this are signs for people who listen. They say, “Allah has offspring.” Glory be to Him! He is the Self-Sufficient. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. You have no proof of this! Do you say about Allah what you do not know? Say: “Indeed, those who fabricate lies against Allah will never succeed.” ˹It is only˺ a brief enjoyment in this world, then to Us is their return, then We will make them taste the severe punishment for their disbelief. Relate to them  the story of Noah when he said to his people, “O my People! If my presence and my reminders to you of Allah’s signs are unbearable to you, then ˹know that˺ I have put my trust in Allah. So devise a plot along with your associate-gods—and you do not have to be secretive about your plot—then carry it out against me without delay! And if you turn away, ˹remember˺ I have never demanded a reward from you ˹for delivering the message˺. My reward is only from Allah. And I have been commanded to be one of those who submit ˹to Allah˺.” But they still rejected him, so We saved him and those with him in the Ark and made them successors, and drowned those who rejected Our signs. See then what was the end of those who had been warned! Then after him We sent ˹other˺ messengers to their ˹own˺ people and they came to them with clear proofs. But they would not believe in what they had rejected before. This is how We seal the hearts of the transgressors.

DAY 254: Yunus 57-64

•  O humanity! Indeed, there has come to you a warning from your Lord, a cure for what is in the hearts, a guide, and a mercy for the believers. Say, “With the grace of Allah and with His mercy (this book has been revealed). So they should rejoice in it. It is much better than that (wealth) which they accumulate“. Say, “Have you ever considered, whatever provision Allah has sent down for your benefit, you have made up lawful and unlawful from it?” Say, “Has Allah permitted you or are you fabricating a lie against Allah?” What is the assumption of those who fabricate a lie against Allah (about) the Day of Judgment? Indeed Allah is gracious to people, but most of them are not grateful. In whatever condition you are, and whatever portion of the Qur’ān you recite therein, and whatever work you all do, We are present before you when you are engaged in it. Hidden from your Lord is nothing even to the measure of a particle on the earth or in the heavens. And there is nothing smaller or greater that is not in the clear Book. There will certainly be no fear for the close servants of Allah, nor will they grieve. ˹They are˺ those who are faithful and are mindful ˹of Him˺. For them there is the good news in the worldly life and in the Hereafter: There is no change in the promise of Allah. That is the great achievement.

      The close servants of Allah;
          They are not a special mystical class. They are defined by two straightforward criteria: 1) Those who believed and 2) Were fearing Allah (had taqwa—consciousness of God that leads to righteous action).
          The Quran as a Mercy and Healing: It is a divine solution for humanity's spiritual ailments.
      Redefining Value: True success is found in divine bounty and mercy, not material accumulation.
      Warning Against Innovation: Legislating in religion without Allah's authority is a grave sin.
      Allah's All-Encompassing Knowledge: Nothing is hidden from Him, ensuring absolute justice.
      Promise to the Believers: The true allies of Allah are granted freedom from fear and grief and receive good news in both worlds through an unchangeable divine promise.
      
      This passage reveals the Quran as a healing mercy for humanity, redefines true joy as found in Allah's grace rather than worldly wealth, warns against the grave sin of religious innovation, and culminates in an irrevocable promise of eternal security and glad tidings for those who believe and practice consciousness of God.

DAY 253: Yunus 41-56

•  If they deny you, then say, “My deeds are mine and your deeds are yours. You are free of what I do and I am free of what you do!” Some of them listen to what you say, but can you make the deaf hear even though they do not understand? And some of them look at you, but can you guide the blind even though they cannot see? Indeed, Allah does not wrong people in the least, but it is people who wrong themselves. On the Day He will gather them, it will be as if they had not stayed ˹in the world˺ except for an hour of a day, ˹as though they were only˺ getting to know one another. Lost indeed will be those who denied the meeting with Allah, and were not ˹rightly˺ guided! Whether We show you ˹O Prophet˺ some of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die ˹before that˺, to Us is their return and Allah is a Witness over what they do. And for every community there is a messenger. After their messenger has come, judgment is passed on them in all fairness, and they are not wronged. They ask ˹the believers˺, “When will this threat come to pass if what you say is true?” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I have no power to benefit or protect myself, except by the Will of Allah.” For each community there is an appointed term. When their time arrives, they cannot delay it for a moment, nor could they advance it. Tell them ˹O Prophet˺, “Imagine if His torment were to overcome you by night or day—do the wicked realize what they are ˹really˺ asking Him to hasten? Will you believe in it only after it has overtaken you? Now? But you always wanted to hasten it!” Then the wrongdoers will be told, “Taste the torment of eternity! Are you not rewarded except for what you used to commit?” They ask you ˹O Prophet˺, “Is this true?” Say, “Yes, by my Lord! Most certainly it is true! And you will have no escape.” If every wrongdoer were to possess everything in the world, they would surely ransom themselves with it. They will hide ˹their˺ remorse when they see the torment. And they will be judged in all fairness, and none will be wronged. Surely to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. Surely Allah’s promise is ˹always˺ true, but most of them do not know. He ˹is the One Who˺ gives life and causes death, and to Him you will ˹all˺ be returned.

•  Ask ˹them˺, “Who provides for you from heaven and earth? Who owns ˹your˺ hearing and sight? Who brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living? And who conducts every affair?” They will ˹surely˺ say, “Allah.” Say, “Will you not then fear ˹Him˺? That is Allah—your True Lord. So what is beyond the truth except falsehood? How can you then be turned away?” And so your Lord’s decree has been proven true against the rebellious—that they will never believe. Ask , “Can any of your associate-gods originate creation and then resurrect it?” Say, “˹Only˺ Allah originates creation and then resurrects it. How can you then be deluded ˹from the truth˺?” Ask ˹them˺, “Can any of your associate-gods guide to the truth?” Say, “˹Only˺ Allah guides to the truth.” Who then is more worthy to be followed: the One Who guides to the truth or those who cannot find the way unless guided? What is the matter with you? How do you judge? Most of them follow nothing but ˹inherited˺ assumptions. ˹And˺ surely assumptions can in no way replace the truth. Allah is indeed All-Knowing of what they do. It is not ˹possible˺ for this Quran to have been produced by anyone other than Allah. In fact, it is a confirmation of what came before, and an explanation of the Scripture. It is, without a doubt, from the Lord of all worlds. Or do they claim, “He made it up!”? Tell them, “Produce one sûrah like it then, and seek help from whoever you can—other than Allah—if what you say is true!” In fact, they ˹hastily˺ rejected the Book without comprehending it and before the fulfilment of its warnings. Similarly, those before them were in denial. See then what was the end of the wrongdoers! Some of them will ˹eventually˺ believe in it; others will not. And your Lord knows best the corruptors.

DAY 250: Yunus 21-30

•  When We give people a taste of mercy after being afflicted with a hardship, they swiftly devise plots against Our revelations! Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Allah is swifter in devising ˹punishment˺. Surely Our messenger-angels record whatever you devise.” He is the One Who enables you to travel through land and sea. And it so happens that you are on ships, sailing with a favourable wind, to the passengers’ delight. Suddenly, the ships are overcome by a gale wind and those on board are overwhelmed by waves from every side, and they assume they are doomed. They cry out to Allah ˹alone˺ in sincere devotion, “If You save us from this, we will certainly be grateful.” But as soon as He rescues them, they transgress in the land unjustly. O  humanity! Your transgression is only against your own souls. ˹There is only˺ brief enjoyment in this worldly life, then to Us is your return, and then We will inform you of what you used to do. The life of this world is just like rain We send down from the sky, producing a mixture of plants which humans and animals consume. Then just as the earth looks its best, perfectly beautified, and its people think they have full control over it, there comes to it Our command by night or by day, so We mow it down as if it never flourished yesterday! This is how We make the signs clear for people who reflect. And Allah invites ˹all˺ to the Home of Peace and guides whoever He wills to the Straight Path. Those who do good will have the finest reward and ˹even˺ more. Neither gloom nor disgrace will cover their faces. It is they who will be the residents of Paradise. They will be there forever. As for those who commit evil, the reward of an evil deed is its equivalent. Humiliation will cover them—with no one to protect them from Allah—as if their faces were covered with patches of the night’s deep darkness. It is they who will be the residents of the Fire. They will be there forever. ˹Consider˺ the Day We will gather them all together then say to those who associated others ˹with Allah in worship˺, “Stay in your places—you and your associate-gods.” We will separate them from each other, and their associate-gods will say, “It was not us that you worshipped! Allah is sufficient as a Witness between each of us that we were totally unaware of your worship.” Then and there every soul will face ˹the consequences of˺ what it had done. They all will be returned to Allah—their True Master. And whatever ˹gods˺ they fabricated will fail them.

      These verses expose the tragic cycle of human ingratitude—where people conspire against truth after receiving mercy and break their promises once saved from danger—and culminate in a definitive scene of Judgment Day where all false gods disown their followers, leaving every soul alone to face the consequences of its deeds before the one true God.

DAY 249: Yunus 11-20

•  If Allah were to hasten evil for people as they wish to hasten good, they would have certainly been doomed. But We leave those who do not expect to meet Us to wander blindly in their defiance. Whenever someone is touched by hardship, they cry out to Us, whether lying on their side, sitting, or standing. But when We relieve their hardship, they return to their old ways as if they had never cried to Us to remove any hardship! This is how the misdeeds of the transgressors have been made appealing to them. We surely destroyed ˹other˺ peoples before you when they did wrong, and their messengers came to them with clear proofs but they would not believe! This is how We reward the wicked people. Then We made you their successors in the land to see how you would act. When Our clear revelations are recited to them, those who do not expect to meet Us say ˹to the Prophet˺, “Bring us a different Quran or make some changes in it.” Say ˹to them˺, “It is not for me to change it on my own. I only follow what is revealed to me. I fear, if I were to disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day.” Say, “Had Allah willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. I had lived my whole life among you before this ˹revelation˺. Do you not understand?” Who does more wrong than those who fabricate lies against Allah or deny His revelations? Indeed, the wicked will never succeed. They worship besides Allah others who can neither harm nor benefit them, and say, “These are our intercessors with Allah.” Ask ˹them, O  Prophet˺, “Are you informing Allah of something He does not know in the heavens or the earth? Glorified and Exalted is He above what they associate ˹with Him˺!” Humanity was once nothing but a single community , but then they differed. Had it not been for a prior decree from your Lord, their differences would have been settled ˹at once˺.  They ask, “Why has no ˹other˺ sign been sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “˹The knowledge of˺ the unseen is with Allah alone. So wait! I too am waiting with you.”

DAY 248: Yunus 1-10

•  Alif-Lãm-Ra. These are the verses of the Book, rich in wisdom. Is it astonishing to people that We have sent revelation to a man from among themselves, ˹instructing him,˺ “Warn humanity and give good news to the believers that they will have an honourable status with their Lord.”? Yet the disbelievers said, “Indeed, this ˹man˺ is clearly a magician!” Surely your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six stages, then established Himself on the Throne, conducting every affair. None can intercede except by His permission. That is Allah—your Lord, so worship Him ˹alone˺. Will you not then be mindful? To Him is your return all together. Allah’s promise is ˹always˺ true. Indeed, He originates the creation then resurrects it so that He may justly reward those who believe and do good. But those who disbelieve will have a boiling drink and a painful punishment for their disbelief. He is the One Who made the sun a radiant source and the moon a reflected light, with precisely ordained phases, so that you may know the number of years and calculation ˹of time˺. Allah did not create all this except for a purpose. He makes the signs clear for people of knowledge. Surely in the alternation of the day and the night, and in all that Allah has created in the heavens and the earth, there are truly signs for those mindful ˹of Him˺. Indeed, those who do not expect to meet Us, being pleased and content with this worldly life, and who are heedless of Our signs, they will have the Fire as a home because of what they have committed. Surely those who believe and do good, their Lord will guide them ˹to Paradise˺ through their faith, rivers will flow under their feet in the Gardens of Bliss, in which their prayer will be, “Glory be to You, O  Allah!” and their greeting will be, “Peace!” and their closing prayer will be, “All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds!”

      Divine Origin of the Quran: It is a wise book, not poetry or magic.
      The Reality of Prophethood: Revelation to a human is not absurd; it is Allah's way.
      Tawhid (Monotheism): Allah is the sole Creator, Sustainer, and rightful object of worship.
      The Hereafter (Akhirah): Life is a test, and everyone will be justly compensated for their beliefs and actions.
      Signs (Ayat): Proof of all the above is found both in the recited verses of the Quran and the observed verses of the universe.

•     --Here is how you should live (The Commandments, V. 22-39).
      --But people often don't. They are arrogant, hasty, and ungrateful (Observations on Human Nature, V. 11, 67).

      --So, don't be arrogant! Allah has the power to punish you for this (The Warning, V. 68-69).

          Fulfill all your promises and covenants.
          Be honest and fair in all your dealings.
          Be humble; walk on earth with humility, not arrogance.
          Pursue knowledge, not assumption.
  
   --The Human Dilemma: Why We Struggle to Follow the Path
      Despite this clear guidance, humanity is inherently prone to:
          Haste: Making impulsive, short-sighted decisions.
          Ingratitude: Forgetting Allah in times of comfort and only remembering Him in distress.
          Arrogance: Considering oneself superior to others and even to divine commands.
  
   --The Origin of the Struggle: The Ancient Enemy
      This internal struggle is exploited by an external enemy. The story of Iblis (Satan) reveals:
          Arrogance was the first sin.
          Satan declared war on humanity, vowing to mislead us all.
          His tools are whispers, false promises of wealth and children, and delusion.
  
   --The Stakes: Warning, Honor, and Ultimate Accountability
      Do not feel secure in your disobedience. Allah has the power to punish as He did with past nations.
      Your disbelief is a betrayal of the immense honor Allah bestowed upon you, elevating you above much of His creation.
      This life is a test. On the Day of Judgment, you will be held individually accountable for your choices. Your own record will testify for or against you.
  
  --The Present Battle: The Prophet's Example
      This struggle is not abstract. It was lived by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who faced:
          Temptation to compromise his message for social acceptance.
          Plots to drive him from his home.
          Mockery and demands for impossible miracles.
      His experience is not unique; it is the unchanging way of all Allah's messengers.
  
  --The Divine Prescription: Your Spiritual Toolkit
      The remedy for this struggle is provided:
          The Quran: It is healing for your heart, mercy for your soul, and the ultimate truth. Study, learn, and reflect upon it.
          The Prayer (Salah): Establish the five daily prayers to structure your life around remembrance of Allah. For greater strength, pray the optional night vigil (Tahajjud).
          Trust (Tawakkul): Rely on Allah alone. Pray to Him for a righteous beginning and end to all your affairs.
  
  --The Final Proof: Lessons from History
      Do not demand signs. History proves that miracles alone do not create faith.
          Pharaoh was given nine undeniable miracles yet rejected them out of arrogance, claiming they were "magic."
          His end was destruction, a warning to all who similarly oppose the truth.
      The Quran itself is the greatest and sufficient miracle—eternal, living, and transformative for those who listen with humility.
  
  --The Conclusion: The Only Path Forward
      Therefore, the call is clear:
          Accept: Believe in the Quran, the final fulfillment of Allah's promise.
          Submit: Respond with humility, prostrate to your Lord, and weep in gratitude and awe.
          Worship: Pray with devotion and call upon Allah by His beautiful names.
          Praise: Live a life of gratitude, praising Allah who has no son, no partner, no need for any helper, and who is the Only One worthy of all magnification.
  
  In essence, Surah Al-Isra calls you to recognize your honor, understand your enemy, embrace your guidance, and fulfill your purpose through worship, culminating in absolute praise of your Lord.
  

DAY 246: Isra 101-111

•  We surely gave Moses nine clear signs. ˹You, O  Prophet, can˺ ask the Children of Israel. When Moses came to them, Pharaoh said to him, “I really think that you, O  Moses, are bewitched.” Moses replied, “You know well that none has sent these ˹signs˺ down except the Lord of the heavens and the earth as insights. And I really think that you, O  Pharaoh, are doomed.” So Pharaoh wanted to scare the Israelites out of the land ˹of Egypt˺, but We drowned him and all of those with him. And We said to the Children of Israel after Pharaoh, “Reside in the land, but when the promise of the Hereafter comes to pass, We will bring you all together.” We have sent down the Quran in truth, and with the truth it has come down. We have sent you ˹O Prophet˺ only as a deliverer of good news and a warner. ˹It is˺ a Quran We have revealed in stages so that you may recite it to people at a deliberate pace. And We have sent it down in successive revelations. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Believe in this ˹Quran˺, or do not. Indeed, when it is recited to those who were gifted with knowledge before it ˹was revealed˺, they fall upon their faces in prostration, and say, ‘Glory be to our Lord! Surely the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled.’ And they fall down upon their faces weeping, and it increases them in humility.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Compassionate—whichever you call, He has the Most Beautiful Names.” Do not recite your prayers too loudly or silently, but seek a way between. And say, “All praise is for Allah, Who has never had ˹any˺ offspring; nor does He have a partner in ˹governing˺ the kingdom; nor is He pathetic, needing a protector. And revere Him immensely.”

DAY 245: Isra 88-100

•  Say, “If all the humans and jinns join together to produce anything like this Qur’ān, they will not (be able to) come up with anything like it, even if they assist one another. Indeed We explained every subject in this Qur’ān in various ways for the benefit of mankind. Still, most of the people refused to do anything but reject. They said, “We shall never believe in you unless you cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth. Or you have a garden of date palms and grapes, then you bring forth rivers from their midst in abundance. Or you cause the sky to fall upon us in pieces, as you claimed, or you bring Allah and angels before us face to face. Or you have a house made of gold. Or you ascend to the sky, and we will not believe in your ascension unless you send down to us a book we may read.” Say, “I proclaim the Purity of my Lord. I am nothing but human, a messenger.” Nothing prevented people from believing, when guidance came to them, except that they said, “Has Allah sent a man as a messenger?” Say, “Had there been angels (living) on the earth, walking about in peace, We would have certainly sent down an angel from the heavens as a messenger.” Say, “Allah is sufficient as witness between me and you. Surely, He is All-Aware, All-Watchful to His servants.” The one whom Allah guides is the guided one; and those whom He lets go astray, you will never find for them any helpers other than Him. And We shall gather them on the Day of Judgment, with their faces down-blind, dumb and deaf. Hell will be their home. Whenever it dies down, We will flare it up for them. That is their reward for rejecting Our signs and asking ˹mockingly˺, “When we are reduced to bones and ashes, will we really be raised as a new creation?” Have they not realized that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, can ˹easily˺ re-create them? He has ˹already˺ set for them a time, about which there is no doubt. But the wrongdoers persist in denial. Say ˹to them; “Even if you were to possess the ˹infinite˺ treasuries of my Lord’s mercy, then you would certainly withhold ˹them˺, fearing they would run out—for humankind is ever stingy!”

And rise at ˹the last˺ part of the night, offering additional prayers, so your Lord may raise you to a station of praise. And say, “My Lord! Grant me an honourable entrance and an honourable exit and give me a supporting authority from Yourself.” And declare, “The truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish.” We send down the Quran as a healing and mercy for the believers, but it only increases the wrongdoers in loss. When We grant people Our favours, they turn away, acting arrogantly. But when touched with evil, they lose all hope. Say; “Everyone acts in their own way. But your Lord knows best whose way is rightly guided.” They ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about the spirit. Say, “Its nature is known only to my Lord, and you ˹O humanity˺ have been given but little knowledge.” If We willed, We could have certainly taken away what We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺—then you would find none to guarantee its return from Us— had it not been for the mercy of your Lord. Indeed, His favour upon you is immense.

      The believer's spiritual toolkit: establishing daily prayers and seeking nightly devotion as acts of discipline, relying on the Quran as a healing mercy for the heart, and humbly acknowledging that its divine origin is a gift of grace, not something any human power could ever produce or retain.

DAY 243: Isra 68-77

•  Do you feel secure that He will not cause the land to swallow you up, or unleash upon you a storm of stones? Then you will find none to protect you. Or do you feel secure that He will not send you back to sea once again, and send upon you a violent storm, drowning you for your denial? Then you will find none to avenge you against Us. Indeed, We have dignified the children of Adam, carried them on land and sea, granted them good and lawful provisions, and privileged them far above many of Our creatures. ˹Beware of˺ the Day We will summon every people with their leader. So whoever will be given their record in their right hand will read it ˹happily˺ and will not be wronged ˹even by the width of˺ the thread of a date stone. But whoever is blind ˹to the truth˺ in this ˹world˺ will be blind in the Hereafter, and ˹even˺ far more astray from the ˹Right˺ Way. They definitely ˹thought they˺ were about to lure you away from what We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺, hoping that you would attribute something else to Us falsely—and then they would have certainly taken you as a close friend. Had We not made you steadfast, you probably would have inclined to them a little, and then We truly would have made you taste double ˹punishment˺ both in this life and after death, and you would have found no helper against Us. They were about to intimidate you to drive you out of the land, but then they would not have survived after you ˹had left˺ except for a little while. ˹This has been˺ Our way with the messengers We sent before you. And you will never find any change in Our way.

DAY 242: Isra 61-67

•  And ˹remember˺ when We said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam,” so they all did—but not Iblîs, who protested, “Should I prostrate to the one You have created from mud?” Adding, “Do you see this one you honoured above me? If you delay my end until the Day of Judgment, I will certainly take hold of his descendants, except for a few.” Allah responded, “Be gone! Whoever of them follows you, Hell will surely be the reward for all of you—an ample reward. And incite whoever you can of them with your voice, mobilize against them all your cavalry and infantry, manipulate them in their wealth and children, and make them promises.” But Satan promises them nothing but delusion. ˹Allah added,˺ “You will truly have no authority over My ˹faithful˺ servants.” And sufficient is your Lord as a Guardian. It is your Lord Who steers the ships for you through the sea, so that you may seek His bounty. Surely He is ever Merciful to you. When you are touched with hardship at sea, you ˹totally˺ forget all ˹the gods˺ you ˹normally˺ invoke, except Him. But when He delivers you ˹safely˺ to shore, you turn away. Humankind is ever ungrateful.

      The Nature of the Test: Life is a test where Satan is an active tempter, but he has no power over those who sincerely seek Allah's protection.
      Human Vulnerability: Humans are prone to ingratitude and forgetfulness, especially when comfortable.
      Divine Mercy: Despite human flaws and Satan's plots, Allah's mercy is ever-present, from the ships at sea to the granting of respite for repentance. 
      The message for the  believers was clear: the opposition they faced was part of an ancient struggle. Their weapon was to remember Allah, seek His refuge, and never be among the ungrateful who only remember Him in times of distress.  
      This passage connects by moving from what is happening (disbelief, ethics, social rules) to why it is happening (the eternal struggle between divinely guided obedience and satanic-induced arrogance). It completes the picture, giving the believer a profound understanding of their enemy and the nature of their own tests.
   
      The story of Iblis's arrogance and vow to mislead humanity provides the cosmic origin story for the human flaws—ingratitude, haste, and rejection of truth—already described, framing life as a test where our choice to obey God or follow Satan's whispers determines our fate.
