- Is it, then, that your Lord has chosen you people to have sons, and has
Himself opted for females from among the angels? Surely, you are
uttering a serious statement. We have surely varied ˹the signs˺ in this Quran so perhaps they may be mindful, but it only drives them farther away. Say;“Had there been other gods besides Him—as they
claim—then they would have certainly sought a way to ˹challenge˺ the
Lord of the Throne.” Glorified and Highly Exalted is He above what they claim! All the skies and the earth, and all those in them glorify Him. There
is not a single thing that does not glorify His praises—but you ˹simply˺
cannot comprehend their glorification. He is indeed Most Forbearing,
All-Forgiving. When you recite the Quran, We put a hidden barrier between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter. We have cast veils over their hearts—leaving them unable to comprehend
it—and deafness in their ears. And when you mention your Lord alone in
the Quran, they turn their backs in aversion. We know best how they listen to your recitation and what they say
privately—when the wrongdoers say, “You would only be following a
bewitched man.” See how they call you names ! So they have gone so ˹far˺ astray that they cannot find the ˹Right˺ Way. And they say ˹mockingly˺, “When we are reduced to bones and ashes, will we really be raised as a new creation?” Say ; “˹Yes, even if˺ you become stones, or iron, or whatever you think is harder to bring to life!” Then they will ask
˹you˺, “Who will bring us back ˹to life˺?” Say, “The One Who created you
the first time.” They will then shake their heads at you and ask, “When
will that be?” Say, “Perhaps it is soon!” On the Day He will call you, you will ˹instantly˺ respond by praising Him, thinking you had remained ˹in the world˺ only for a little while.

After concluding the list of direct commandments, the Quran now addresses the objections and ridicule of the disbelievers, particularly targeting their flawed logic in rejecting the message of Tawhid (Monotheism). The style becomes powerfully rhetorical, using a series of penetrating questions to dismantle their polytheistic beliefs and affirm the absolute oneness and majesty of Allah.
Allah's Absolute Oneness: Dismantling polytheism with logical arguments.
Allah's Transcendence: Freeing Him from human attributes and false projections.
The Universe's Submission: Everything in creation inherently worships its Creator.
The Reality of Revelation: Explaining the spiritual barriers that prevent disbelievers from accepting the truth.
The Certainty of Resurrection: Affirming God's power to recreate and the inevitable accountability of the Hereafter.
This passage powerfully refutes polytheism and denial of the Hereafter by exposing the disbelievers' illogical beliefs, affirming that the entire universe inherently glorifies its single Creator, and asserting that the God who originated life can easily resurrect it for ultimate accountability.
