- ˹Remember˺ when the angels proclaimed, “O Mary! Allah gives you good news of a Word from Him, his name will be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary; honoured in this world and the Hereafter, and he will be one of those nearest ˹to Allah˺. And he will speak to people in ˹his˺ infancy and adulthood and will be one of the righteous.” Mary wondered, “My Lord! How can I have a child when no man has ever
touched me?” An angel replied, “So will it be. Allah creates what He
wills. When He decrees a matter, He simply tells it, ‘Be!’ And it is! And Allah will teach him writing and wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel, and ˹make him˺ a messenger to the Children of Israel ˹to proclaim,˺ ‘I
have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I will make for you a bird
from clay, breathe into it, and it will become a ˹real˺ bird—by Allah’s
Will. I will heal the blind and the leper and raise the dead to life—by
Allah’s Will. And I will prophesize what you eat and store in your
houses. Surely in this is a sign for you if you ˹truly˺ believe. And I will confirm the Torah revealed before me and legalize some of
what had been forbidden to you. I have come to you with a sign from your
Lord, so be mindful of Allah and obey me. Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him ˹alone˺. This is the Straight Path.’” When Jesus sensed disbelief from his people, he asked, “Who will stand
up with me for Allah?” The disciples replied, “We will stand up for
Allah. We believe in Allah, so bear witness that we have submitted.” ˹They prayed to Allah,˺ “Our Lord! We believe in Your revelations and
follow the messenger, so count us among those who bear witness.” And the disbelievers made a plan ˹against Jesus˺, but Allah also planned—and Allah is the best of planners. ˹Remember˺ when Allah said, “O Jesus! I will take you and
raise you up to Myself. I will deliver you from those who disbelieve,
and elevate your followers above the disbelievers until the Day of
Judgment. Then to Me you will ˹all˺ return, and I will settle all your
disputes. As for those who disbelieve, I will subject them to a severe punishment
in this life and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers. And as for those who believe and do good, they will be rewarded in full. And Allah does not like the wrongdoers.” We recite ˹all˺ this to you ˹O Prophet˺ as one of the signs and ˹as˺ a wise reminder. Indeed, the example of Jesus in the sight of Allah is like that of Adam.
He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be!” And he was! This is the truth from your Lord, so do not be one of those who doubt. Now, whoever disputes with you ˹O Prophet˺ concerning Jesus after full
knowledge has come to you, say, “Come! Let us gather our children and
your children, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves—then
let us sincerely invoke Allah’s curse upon the liars.” Certainly, this is the true narrative, and there is no god ˹worthy of
worship˺ except Allah. And indeed, Allah ˹alone˺ is the Almighty,
All-Wise. If they turn away, then surely Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of the corruptors.

Verses 45-47: The Announcement of the Messiah
Angels announce to Maryam a son called the Messiah, a Word from God, honored in both worlds and among those nearest to Him. He will speak as an infant and as a man. When she asks how it's possible without a man touching her, the answer is absolute: God creates whatever He wills by simply saying "Be," and it is.
Verses 48-51: The Mission of Jesus
Jesus is taught the Book, wisdom, Torah, and Gospel, and sent to the Children of Israel with miracles—creating birds from clay, healing the blind and leper, raising the dead—all explicitly "by God's permission." He confirms the Torah, loosens some restrictions, and his core message is unwavering Tawhid: "Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the straight path."
Verses 52-54: The Disciples and the Plot
Facing hardened disbelief, Jesus calls for supporters, and the disciples pledge themselves as God's helpers, declaring their faith and submission. As the disbelievers scheme against him, the verse thunders: "They planned, and Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners."
Verses 55-58: The Elevation and the Final Reckoning
God reveals His counter-plan: Jesus is not crucified but taken and raised up to Him, purified from the disbelievers. His true followers will remain superior until the Day of Resurrection, when all disputes about him will be settled by God's perfect judgment—punishment for rejectors, full reward for the faithful.
Verses 59-60: The Adamic Analogy
The theological knockout: Jesus's miraculous birth without a father is no proof of divinity. Adam had no father and no mother, created directly from dust by the command "Be." If birthright makes one divine, Adam's claim is stronger—but no one claims that. This is the truth, so don't doubt.
Verses 61-63: The Challenge of Mubahala
After all proofs, the final challenge: gather your sons, women, and yourselves, and invoke God's curse upon the liars. It's a spiritual duel to the death. The passage closes declaring this is the true story, there is no god but Allah, and if they turn away, God knows the corrupters fully. Case closed.
Jesus, announced as the Messiah born of the virgin Maryam by God's sheer command "Be," performed miracles solely by God's permission, called people to worship God alone, was neither crucified nor killed but his earthly life was completed and his soul raised to God in honor like all righteous servants, and any who dispute this truth are invited to a spiritual showdown invoking God's curse upon the liars—case closed.
