- On that Day, We will let them surge ˹like waves˺ over one another. Later, the Trumpet will be blown, and We will gather all ˹people˺ together. On that Day We will display Hell clearly for the disbelievers, those who turned a blind eye to My Reminder and could not stand listening ˹to it˺. Do the disbelievers think they can ˹simply˺ take My servants as lords instead of Me? We have surely prepared Hell as an accommodation for the disbelievers. Say, “Shall We tell you about the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds? Those are the ones whose effort in the worldly life has gone in vain, while they think they are doing well. Those are the ones who rejected the signs of their Lord and (the concept
of) meeting with Him, so their deeds have gone to waste, and We shall
assign to them no weight at all. That is their punishment, the Jahannam , for they disbelieved and made My signs and My messengers a mockery. Indeed, those who believe and do good will have the Gardens of Paradise as an accommodation, where they will be forever, never desiring anywhere else. Say, “If the ocean were to be ink for (writing) the Words of my Lord,
the ocean would have been consumed before the Words of my Lord are
exhausted, even though we were to bring another (ocean) like it in
addition.” Say, “Surely, I am but a human being like you; it is revealed to me that
your God is the One God. So the one who hopes to meet his Lord must do
righteous deed and must not associate anyone in the worship of his
Lord.”

The Hour is Inevitable: From the sleepers in the cave to the fall of the barrier, all signs point to one inescapable event.
Deeds are Judged by Intent and Faith: The "greatest losers" are those with impressive deeds but no true faith in the meeting with Allah. Righteousness (amal salih) must be coupled with sincere monotheism.
The Final Justice: Hell for those who mocked the truth; Eternal Paradise for those who believed and did good.
Humility Before Divine Wisdom: No human can fathom the full depth of Allah's knowledge or plan (echoing the lesson of Musa and Khidr).
The Prophet's Role Clarified: He is a human warner and bearer of good news, calling to the worship of the One God.
The surah's conclusion reveals that the ultimate losers are those who waste their lives on godless deeds, deluding themselves they are doing good, while the only path to salvation is to live with sincere hope in meeting Allah, performing righteous deeds in pure worship of Him alone.
Flee to Allah when weak, Thank Allah when prosperous,
Trust Allah when confused, Serve Allah when powerful,
The Cave’s sleepers were preserved for a Day like this—the Day of Assembly.
The garden owner’s denial is the very attitude that leads to the “greatest loss”—a lifetime of work with no weight on the Scale.
Khidr’s hidden wisdom will be fully unveiled on this Day, and every decree will be understood as just and merciful.
Dhul-Qarnayn’s mighty barrier will fall, showing that all human structures are temporary before Allah’s eternal Judgment.
