DAY 375: Kahf 83-91

•  They ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Ⱬul-Qarnain. Say, “I will relate to you something of his narrative.” Surely We established him in the land, and gave him the means to all things. So he travelled a course, until he reached the setting ˹point˺ of the sun, which appeared to him to be setting in a spring of murky water, where he found some people. We said, “O Ⱬul-Qarnain! Either punish them or treat them kindly.” He responded, “Whoever does wrong will be punished by us, then will be returned to their Lord, Who will punish them with a horrible torment. As for those who believe and do good, they will have the finest reward, and we will assign them easy commands.” Then he travelled a ˹different˺ course until he reached the rising ˹point˺ of the sun. He found it rising on a people for whom We had provided no shelter from it. So it was. And We truly had full knowledge of him.

      Power as a Divine Trust (Amanah): Dhul-Qarnayn's might is explicitly granted by Allah (V.84). He is the antithesis of the Pharaoh or the arrogant garden owner.
      The Purpose of Power: To Establish Justice: His model is mercy for the good, punishment for the oppressor, with consciousness of Allah's final judgment. This is the practical application of the belief in the Hereafter.
      Active Utilization of Means (Asbab): He is a doer, an engineer, a conqueror—but one who recognizes the sources of his means and works within divine bounds.
      Wisdom in Non-Interference: His eastern journey shows that righteous power is not meddlesome or imperial for its own sake. It observes and respects differences where there is no call for intervention.

      Your Power is a Loan, Not a Gift:
      Justice is Your Only Job Description:
      Use Tools to Build, Not Break:
      Punish with the Hereafter in Mind:
      Don't Force Your "Help" on Everyone:
      Judge by Deeds, Not DNA:

      Contrast with Previous Stories:
          --- Unlike the Youths of the Cave, who fled a corrupt system, Dhul-Qarnayn confronts and reforms corruption.
          --- Unlike the Garden Owner, whose wealth led to arrogance, Dhul-Qarnayn's greater power leads to humility and justice.
          --- Unlike Musa with Khidr, who learned passive submission to unseen wisdom, Dhul-Qarnayn actively applies visible wisdom in governance.
    
   Dhul-Qarnayn exemplifies that true power is a divine trust to be wielded with disciplined justice—rewarding good, punishing oppression, and knowing when to act versus when to merely observe—all while maintaining humility before the ultimate authority of Allah.
