DAY 284: Hijr 45-56

•  Indeed, the righteous will be amid Gardens and springs. ˹It will be said to them,˺ “Enter in peace and security.” We will remove whatever bitterness they had in their hearts. In a friendly manner, they will be on thrones, facing one another. No fatigue will touch them there, nor will they ever be asked to leave. Inform My servants ˹O Prophet˺ that I am truly the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful, and that My torment is indeed the most painful. And tell them about the guests of Ibrāhīm. When they visited him, they greeted him with Salām (peace on you). He said, “Surely we are afraid of you.” They reassured ˹him˺, “Do not be afraid! Surely we give you good news of a knowledgeable son.” He wondered, “Do you give me good news despite my old age? What unlikely news!” They responded, “We give you good news in all truth, so do not be one of those who despair.” He exclaimed, “Who would despair of the mercy of their Lord except the misguided?”

      The Ultimate Reward: Paradise is described as a state of perfect peace, security, purity, and eternal, effortless bliss.
      Divine Justice & Mercy: Allah presents both His boundless mercy for the repentant and His severe punishment for the rejecters, giving people a clear choice.
      Consolation Through Prophetic Precedent: The Prophet Muhammad is comforted by being reminded of Ibrahim's story, teaching him that divine promises always come true, even when they seem impossible.
  It is the reaction of a mind that understands cause and effect, confronting a miracle that transcends it. He is, in a sense, "checking the reasoning" as you said, not to invalidate the news, but to fully comprehend the magnitude of the blessing.
      The Quran consistently shows its prophets as fully human. They feel fear (as Ibrahim did when the angels first arrived), they feel grief, and they experience wonder. This makes their ultimate submission and trust even more powerful. Ibrahim's momentary astonishment makes his subsequent affirmation of faith—"And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except the astray?"—all the more powerful. It shows that faith isn't the absence of questions, but the triumph of trust over astonishment.
      The Condemnation of Despair: The core message is that a believer should never despair of Allah's mercy, plan, or support, as despair is a trait of those who are astray.
  
      Prophet Ibrahim's (AS) questioning of the natural circumstances surrounding the glad tidings of a son was not a doubt in Allah's power, but the rightful astonishment of a human intellect marveling at the miraculous means through which divine promise would be fulfilled, ultimately strengthening his faith.
