DAY 268: Hud 110-123

  •  Indeed, We had given Moses the Scripture, but differences arose regarding it. Had it not been for a prior decree from your Lord, their differences would have been settled ˹at once˺. They are truly in alarming doubt about it. And surely your Lord will fully pay all for their deeds. He is certainly All-Aware of what they do. So be steadfast as you are commanded ˹O Prophet˺, along with those who turn ˹in submission to Allah˺ with you. And do not transgress. Surely He is All-Seeing of what you ˹believers˺ do. And do not be inclined to the wrongdoers or you will be touched by the Fire. For then you would have no protectors other than Allah, nor would you be helped. Establish Salāh at both ends of the day, and in the early hours of the night. Surely, good deeds erase bad deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful. And be patient, for Allah does not let the reward of the righteous go to waste. Then, why is it that there were no people, among the generations before you, who would have enough remnants of wisdom to stop others from creating disorder in the land, except a few among them whom We saved (from Our punishment)? And the wrongdoers pursued the luxuries they were involved in, and they became sinners. Your Lord is not such that He would destroy the towns unjustly while their people are good in their ways. Had your Lord willed, He would have made all the people a single community. But, they will continue in their differences, except those whom Allah has blessed with mercy, and for that He has created them. And perfect is the word of your Lord: “I will surely fill the Hell with Jinns and the human beings, all together.” We narrate to you all such stories from the events of the messengers as We strengthen your heart therewith. And in these (stories) there has come to you the truth, a good counsel and a reminder to those who believe. Say to those who do not believe, “Do whatever you can. We are doing (what we can). And wait. We too are waiting.” To Allah ˹alone˺ belongs the knowledge of what is hidden in the heavens and the earth. And to Him all matters are returned. So worship Him and put your trust in Him. And your Lord is never unaware of what you do.

After the lengthy narratives of the prophets, these verses deliver the final, universal verdict and direct instructions, first to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and then to all believers.
Drawing final lessons from the stories and providing ultimate guidance for navigating the trials of life, centered on steadfast worship and absolute reliance on Allah.

A crucial strategic and spiritual command. "Inclining" doesn't just mean joining them; it can mean seeking their approval, forming compromising alliances, or envying their temporary power. The consequence is severe: "lest the Fire touch you." Maintaining spiritual and moral independence from the camp of falsehood is a matter of eternal salvation.
"To Allah belong the Unseen..." - Acknowledge His absolute knowledge and power.
"...and to Him will be returned the matter in its entirety." - Acknowledge the Final Judgment.
"...so worship Him..." - This is the purpose of life.
"...and rely upon Him." - This is the means to achieve it.
The surah ends by affirming that your Lord is never unaware of anything you do, providing the ultimate comfort for the believer and the ultimate warning for the wrongdoer.
     ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Final Verdict: The stories prove that all will be fully recompensed.
The Central Command: Steadfastness (Istiqamah) on the straight path, avoiding any inclination to the wrongdoers.
        The Practical Method:
    Through prayer and patience.
The Social Responsibility: To be a community that actively forbids corruption.
The Ultimate Instruction: To worship Allah alone and place total, unwavering reliance (Tawakkul) upon Him, knowing He is fully aware of all things.

Remain steadfast through prayer and patience, actively oppose corruption, and place your complete reliance solely on Allah, for to Him belongs all that is unseen and to Him is the final return of every matter.
