- O you enwrapped one!, (under the heavy responsibility of Messengership)! stand at night (for prayer) except a little, half of it, or make it a little less, or a little more—and recite the Quran ˹properly˺ in a measured way. Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy Message.

Allah’s Focus is on the Mission, Not Physical Clothing:
Allah has no concern with the Prophet’s physical clothing. The Quran is a book of guidance, and its verses are meant to convey deeper spiritual and practical lessons. The metaphorical interpretation aligns with this purpose, emphasizing the weight of the prophetic mission rather than superficial details.
The "Heavy Message" (Verse 5):
In verse 5, Allah says, "Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy Message." This directly connects to the metaphorical meaning of being "enwrapped" by the burden of the message. The Quran is described as a "heavy word" because it carries immense responsibility, wisdom, and guidance. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was tasked with delivering this message to humanity, which was no small feat.
The Night as a Time for Reflection and Preparation:
The command to wake up at night and engage in prayer, recitation, and reflection (verses 2–6) underscores the importance of the night as a time for deep thinking, study, and spiritual connection. The stillness of the night provides an ideal environment for focusing on the heavy responsibility of conveying Allah’s message and preparing oneself for the challenges of the day.
While the literal meaning of "wrapping in clothing" provides a tangible image, the metaphorical meaning—being enwrapped by the burden of the message—is far more profound and aligns with the Quran’s emphasis on spiritual and intellectual growth. The command to wake up at night, study, reflect, and pray is a timeless reminder for all believers, especially those carrying heavy responsibilities, to seek Allah’s guidance and strength during the most spiritually potent hours of the night.
