DAY 327: Zumar 42-52

•  ˹It is˺ Allah ˹Who˺ calls back the souls ˹of people˺ upon their death as well as ˹the souls˺ of the living during their sleep. Then He keeps those for whom He has ordained death, and releases the others until ˹their˺ appointed time. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect. Is it that they have adopted intercessors out of those (whom they invoke) other than Allah? Say, “(Do you take them as intercessors) even though they have no power at all, nor do they understand?” Say, “Intercession belongs entirely to Allah.” To Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will ˹all˺ be returned.” Yet when Allah alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who disbelieve in the Hereafter are filled with disgust. But as soon as those ˹gods˺ other than Him are mentioned, they are filled with joy. Say, “O Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Knower of the unseen and the seen, you will judge between Your servants in that about which they used to differ. Were the wrongdoers to own all that is on earth, and even twice as much, they would surely seek to ransom themselves with it against the evil punishment on the Day of Judgment. There will appear to them from Allah what they have never imagined. Unveiled to them will be the evils of what they used to earn; and encircled they will be by what they used to ridicule. When man is visited by a trouble, he prays to Us, but when, after that, We favor him with some blessing from Us, he says, “This is given to me because of (my) knowledge.” No, but this is to expose his/her true nature, yet most of them do not know. The same had already been said by those ˹destroyed˺ before them, but their ˹worldly˺ gains were of no benefit to them. and they were overtaken by the evils of what they had earned; and the wrongdoers from these (infidels too) will be overtaken by the evils of what they have earned - and they will not be able to escape. Do they not know that Allah gives abundant or limited provisions to whoever He wills? Surely in this are signs for people who believe.

      The Reality of Death: Death is a deliberate act of Allah, with sleep serving as a daily reminder of it.
      True vs. False Intercession: Intercession is a privilege granted solely by Allah, not a right of powerless idols.
      The Diseased Heart: The disbeliever's heart recoils from the pure concept of Tawhid but delights in shirk.
      The Worthlessness of Worldly Ransom: On Judgment Day, all the world's wealth cannot save a soul from punishment.
      The Cycle of Ingratitude: Humans turn to God in crisis but become arrogant in prosperity, attributing success to themselves.
      Divine Law of Consequences: The fate of destroyed past nations is a sure precedent for present deniers.
      Allah's Control Over Provision: Wealth and poverty are from Allah as a test, refuting human arrogance. 
  
      Allah alone holds the power over life and death, true intercession, and all provision, rendering the disbeliever's aversion to His Oneness, their reliance on idols, and their arrogance in worldly success a fatal folly that leads only to inescapable ruin.
